Workshop is for DuPage County 3rd - 6th Grade teachers. The workshop is appropriate for teachers of natural resources, alternative and special education, ESL, and geography as well as environmental club sponsors and any interested elementary-level educators.
One of our most popular, hands-on workshops! Participants will receive a globe and fill it with natural resources that kids can see and feel, including miniature trees, sand, minerals and ores. Using this one-of-a-kind teaching tool, teachers will learn fun games to help their students understand the origins of natural resources. In addition, the globe helps students meet ISLS for natural resources by addressing how resources are used, where they come from and the differences between annually and rapidly renewable, and non-renewable resources.
A recent participant wrote: The activities are instantly usable, hands-on, and meaningful. They will have a great impact!
