Teachers will tour the DuPage Water Comission to learn about the delivery of DuPage County's drinking water. They will also visit the Elmhurst Quarry, where DuPage County engineers will explain how stormwater is stored there to prevent local area flooding. Then, teachers will go to the DuPage County Forest Preserve's Urban Stream Research Center where aquatic species recovery activities take place.
Back at SCARCE, teachers will learn how to use the enviroscape watershed model, which they can borrow from SCARCE to use in their classrooms. This is an exciting workshop that will help teachers better understand one of our most important natural resources.
