Jefferson Middle School eight grader, Gema C., won the Villa Park Environmental Concerns Commission (ECC) “Promoting Recycling in Villa Park” Art Contest. The contest was held to increase and promote recycling in Villa Park.

A big round of applause for North School 5th Grade student, Blanca C., for being a winner in the 2013 IL EPA Environmental Poster contest! She described her poster as having a green background featuring hands holding the earth.
As a winner, she will receive a congratulatory letter, a ribbon and an environmental reference book for the North school library. She also receives an invitation to attend a recognition ceremony in Springfield. After the recognition ceremony, her artwork will remain on display at the Illinois EPA through April 26.
Blanca was encouraged to enter the contest through the active KKids Conservation Club at North School.
