Ongoing Reuse & Recycling @ SCARCE Print E-mail

altSCARCE is committed to keeping "stuff" out of the landfill - getting it re-used if possible, otherwise recycled. Every day, SCARCE has ongoing collections. The Book Rescue collects any books, Tools for Schools (click for list) collects office & schools supplies, Super Crayons, and ongoing collections at SCARCE keep the items out of the landfill AND are reuse projects - getting the items into the hands of those that can use these precious resources. SCARCE also has ongoing recycling collections for the following items:

  • Small Electronics (see list of acceptable electronics)

Most of the time we do not have staff or volunteers to help you unload. Please don't bring more than you can unload into our big box. Although we can offer the electronics recycling at any time, we cannot accommodate a huge volume. Electronics Recycling Events and Extravaganzas are set up for big quantities and have volunteers to help you unload.

  • Books (bring any books, we recycle those that are in bad shape)
  • Holiday Lights, along with other cords and connectors
  • Scrap Metal (small items - we just have a barrel to collect)
  • Cell Phones
  • Ink Jet Cartridges

Recycling these items at SCARCE provides income that helps to fund our re-use projects (book rescue, tools for schools, and super crayons).

SCARCE seasonal recycling projects include:

  • Recycling Extravaganza @ SCARCE
